Community Health Center Executive Fellowship
The Community Health Center Executive Fellowship is a year-long, online program designed to prepare individuals for leadership roles in community health centers and safety net clinics, including executive director and senior management positions.
The program is offered by the University of Kansas Medical Center through its Department of Health Policy and Management (HP&M).
It was developed in collaboration with the Greater Midwest Association of Primary Health Care (GMAPHC) and KAMU to address the need for succession planning at community health centers in the region. The first class began in 2006.
The program was originally designed for individuals who work in a state associated with
GMAPHC: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas,
Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio
and Wisconsin (Bureau of Primary Health Care
regions five and seven). However, individuals from other states are now welcome to apply.
Program director is Michael A. Grasso, PhD, a professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management of the Kansas University Medical Center.
